on the dot

Today when my boss remarked to me amid a conversation over the phone that an admin supervisor had 'stepped out' of her office I retorted in a loud but amiable way that it was time to go home too. At that time it was 1730 hrs, bookout timing. And my boss was not happy with me coz she said I was very calculative, which I find stupid. Time and tide wait for no man, woman. I find nothing wrong leaving on the dot when I got no work, but evidently she wants me to put on a facade of a workaholic, which I am so turned off by. I find that she has double standards. And I always try to conform to her standards, yet she's not happy when I do. She once told me "I don't want you to work overtime, no work 530 you can go" but now she wants me to not be 'so calculative' when I got no work? wth. Furthermore she herself sometimes comes late to work (and comes into office by the less visible front door, afraid she'll be caught by me. don't worry mdm, i already know), and probably justifies her unprofessional attitude (1 of the airforce's 9 core values) by the fact she always goes home late. If that's the case, why can't I (NEVER been late since my very first bookin after enlistment) go home on the dot since I always come early? If she wants to chastise me for my behaviour I think she should first lead by exemplary example.
