downgrade
hai. call me an attention seeker. I blew my chance to be on papers last week. I'm the only family member not able to appear on papers b4. my dad has 3 articles plus a radio interview in the last 2 yrs. my bro appeared twice for his music award and scholarship. my mum appeared for her award also i think. how sad. It just happens that the straits times crime investigation journalist is an acquaintance of my dad. There was a drowning case of a german diver in my condo pool (read the papers for more worthwhile. In truth I dun really care if I end up a corporal after 2 years. It keeps my ego in check. It's the same rdetails). My dad being the security head, I had word of this mishap and its accompanying details earlier than the other residents, but my dad was against me informing the papers. He said the price of the condo would drop. Hai dunno true or not. sounds stupid to me. Anw someone else tipped off the papers, an indian journalist wrote the article, and my chance of being interviewed was lost. Anw, I have gotten 3 slipped discs. I dunno how it happened. There's not 1 factor which contributed solely to its degeneration. I realise I have many contributory factors which led to their demise. Big upper body frame, BMI of 23, active lifestyle, back injury beginning of last yr, carry wretched heavy loads all the time (IMO the main factor). So i'll be having my medical board review on monday. Very likely downgraded to C9 and a reposting to a clerical unit. Initially I thought of asking my chief clerk to send me to a vocation where I have a chance to be a sergeant. But i realise I'm in it more for the prestige than a heart of service, so it's not really something very worthwhile. Regarding my injury, I seriously thought it was permanent, as iterated by the doctor, and it may well be, but I think mine is a 'marginal' case and there's a good chance the body's natural processes will shave off the protruding areas given ample time, care and rest. Lance Armstrong's inspiring statement came to mind. His friend, upon being informed by him about his cancer, was (at least i think he was) shocked and struggled to deliver a comforting remark. Lance however did not wallow in self pity. He had called his friend to simply say, and confidently so, "i'm gonna beat this thing."
