physio xing long and teachers trio john lim
Ok man. since i decided to apply for the journalist course i reason that i love writing. so for that reason i will try to blog faithfully to prove myself right.
Todae in the outpatient room the tall woman physio with a bit of moustache xing long said i was damn weak la. Coz i was practising the pulldown bar and i din noe wad the proper wae to do it and i let it rise damn quickly she tot i bo lat. that stunned my ego la. wth. So i later did 50 reps of it. it hurt my fingers and the big drumstick-like muscle between thumb and index finger because i have been nursing a tendon injury juz below my ring finger 3rd last phalange(the one nxt to the knuckle) and nv train.
Todae was also the second worst EVER day of my teaching career. And being the great teacher I am, it has to be very bad, for seldom do i have problems controlling delinquent, restless or ADHD students, because i was once one and i understand them much better than they understand their homework. but the whole damn class was noisy la. and they din carew for like 23 mins even after i asked them to line up to dismiss them. they werre noisy so i couldn't dismiss them, even though a few pleaded with me. i din like to do it but i had to maintain a token level fo discipline la.
At times like these olden dae teachers would have used a ruler to rap them. My pri 2 form teacher mr chua (sore loser hockey player) would rap our palms with a quick flick of his wrist via a wooden ruler. each time we talked it would increase by 1. by the end of the yr we had gone up to 7. damn pain la. wth. but i carn do it nowadaes. and the teacher i relieving mr yew yi is so disorganised. i dun like to criticise other teachers but he has reeli not made my life easier. He is one of the rare few teachers which make the life of a stand in teacher almost a nightmare. ( a nightmare to most, but not great teacher Hopemun) His desk is so disorganised i dunno wad is done and wad is not. he left skool not marking tons of work which is still left forgotten(temporarily at least) on the desk. the same desk i use to do my work. I have like an A4 paper's area to do my work if i clear everything else. wth. anw hence i cannot plan lessons properly and usualli underplan. and then in class they so noisy, with no lesson plan i got no motivation to teach properly oso. hai i try to be a good teacher but i slip into this bad mentality of: since the previous teacher and the principal have been unkind they shud not expect me to do my job welL. I actually find it hard to sacrifice my recess to coach my weak students, because i onli had one precious break between 10 periods of total hell. ya. i am only given 1 break period and one free period per day. stingy policy and resulting in an overworked gth. and an overworked gth is a grumpy gth. a grumpy gth carn be a top class teacher.
lucky tmr is my last dae. only 4 periods with the hellish class. but i sympathise with them in a wae. i'm their 7th teacher in 2 years. each teacher brings with him a certain style. and not all teachers are as commited as me. i am not blowing my ego. it's a fact. some are studying. sum got young children. not many are wasting time just b4 entering NS. So the class discipline is lacking. their academic foundations are as shaky as chalk or ronaldo's arthritic knees. I hope when the form teacher ginny low comes back in july she will turn them around. they lack the firm hand of a top class teacher for a sustained period.
Anw wth. i realise most skools have a John Lim in them. rosyth had 1. prps has 1. edgefield pri oso has 1. and i realise i have a good affinity with people of this name.people of this name are usually good natured, friendly, proactive and good teachers. they reeli reeli take after Jesus' apostle. All lims out there take note. if u desire such qualities in your son name them John. ANW all the johns seem to like me. John Lim from rosyth was my teacher. He allowed me to rep the skool twice la. As science HOD he chooses the students for comps and i dunno whye he choose me. But of coz he saw the good in me ahahahah and like all other good teachers he is now a big shot in MOE. i dunno specifically where he went but he's definitely like a higher rank than a junior vice principal. Then the other 2 john lims in prps and edgefield pri complimented me on my teaching skills la. lol. the prps one saes "u doin a good job! the kids like u." i beamed back at him( i know it's awkward phrasing but i learnt it todae from a creative writing txtbk for upper primary students) especially since i am very fierce and often scold them. But i realise that if u're a good teacher the students know it and theyt'll like you more for correcting them. Then the edgefield john lim affirmed me for my ability to control the notorious terror class 3L all the teachers in skool knew about. I din think i did a good job but i thank him anw ahahaha.
after a long time away from the blogging scene and with an information overload i realise my blog entry organisation sux. it will improve over the weeks. bye
ok last notice. I dun find ru bin cute anw. Now my favourite student in 3L is calida. bookworm. she's nice but not the image conscious or trendy kind. i hope she doesn't wear waist-to-ankles skirts in the future.
